Storage system shows more items than are in it

I am on mc 1.21.4 mod version toms_storage_fabric-1.21.4-2.2.2, I could be building the system wrong but I don't believe I am. the modded chests are Expanded Storage

Use the inventory configurator and mark the double chests as one multiblock.

Don't forget to open the configurator UI again to save it.
