For some reason, Polymorphic Filter does not work with my Inventory Cable connectors, while the basic filter works just fine

I tried replacing Inventory Cable Connectors with Basic Hoppers with filters, however, it triggers some strange item-jumping behavior and also sorts items to the wrong chests (even when filters are there)

upd. I found out that it works fine (with any filters) if I apply the filter to the chest, not the Inventory Cable Connector.
Why Polymorphic does not work with Inventory Cable Connector and works fine with other filters still a question
