I was placing a bunch of feral flare lanterns in order to light up a cavern in single player, when my monitor suddenly black-screened and two minutes later the message appeared saying that the server was closed. I'm not sure whether it was a chunk-loading issue or the lanterns themselves.

I just looked through the crash log and apparently it was neither. Alex's Mobs appeared to be the culprit.
