you need to put ilumination in castles, this was in creative but in survival some times the king is dead because some monster spawn with him xD

if you install futuremc lanterns will generate in the castle, also there is an option to prevent mob spawns within a certain bounds of the village. Also that village lord def deserved it I mean who even wears gold armor
