Although this typically isn't an issue, as they do not stack by default. If you do modify them to stack, they will consume the whole stack and leave one empty glass bottle behind. This does not happen with vanilla potions.
(Would also be nice if you could configure the volume of canteens, but I believe this has already been requested).
