Seems pretty weird that you can place cacti in lava now:

yet as soon as it starts flowing the cactus just gives up:

there should probably be a way to turn this off.

This is vanilla feature I suppose, cactus breaks when adjacent to lava.
I have Fabrication's Stable Cacti feature on which avoids this
