Enhancement to Parallel Switch

Hi,
first of all, this mod is great. In fact it's my favorite mod. However, I came up with a small hiccup according to parallel switches.

You're not able to build a switch/track that allows you to

  • pass through Track 1 and Track 2 without switching tracks (both sides)
  • switch from T1 to T2 (from both sides)
  • switch from T2 to T1 (from both sides)

Without such a track, it's quite a pain in the ass to build good multi-track entries for train stations.

Probably this can be achieved with RailCraft, but to be honest MC and RC Rails look really embarrassing compared to TC's (nice models, ty @Spitfire4466).

My suggestion:

I'd say the best way to do this, is to create a completely new switch, containing 4 "sub-switches" (see picture). Since I didn't look up the source code yet, I can't tell how complicated things get. The models shouldn't be that hard to create, since one can take the OG parallel switches as basis.

I know @EternalBlueFlame is busy with TiM but probably there's some time left to add this element to the mod.

Thank You for reading this :)

This has been suggested a LOT, but due to the messy, at best, logic of the rails, and limited staff (pretty much just me outside of MTC code, and art) it was decided to put this feature off until the rewrite (TiM).
If the community wants to write up the feature and make a pull request for it, it would be welcomed, but sadly I don't expect it to happen.

On the bright side TiM already has rail shapes similar to this working perfectly, although it's a bit more compact as they are built off a system that works like vanilla rails.

There's an update coming soon that fixes a few bugs with various parts of TiM and also allows water to flow over rails. I'd include a picture but right now said update is very unstable and thus why I haven't pushed it to git yet
