Items stored in crafting grid cause massive lag and occasional crashes

If I leave an item inside of the crafting grid for a moment, ie the recipe for a powered rail, and close the backpack, when I (try to) reopen the backpack, the game lags heavily or crashes.

Which version of mod do you use? Also give more informations about forge version other mods etc.
