Fabric 1.21.1-10.1.15

I have the Feeding Upgrade equipped on my backpack and i have placed like 2 stacks bread in there as well. It does consume the bread within seconds but it doesn't saturate me at all. The saturation bar remanes the same after apparently eating 2 stacks bread

Try updating to 10.1.17 and see if it works
