I might just be using it wrong, but when I selected 'match item components' and used it with armor or weapons (for example a sword with its own enchants and name), Shift clicking would kick it out of the slot and move it to an empty sorting slot.

Create a unique weapon or armor piece and use 'match item components' to save a slot for it, move it to player inventory and shift click the item to backpack

I kind of expected it to save a slot for any named armor or weapons and any same armor or weapons without that name would stay out of the slot
