It's hard to explain but due to the amount of trinket addons there are, if you have some of them installed a dupe is possible if an item is equipable in multiple trinket slots, simply shift click to equip the item and just take it out of both slots.

This doesn't sound like expected behavior, can you describe what mods and items are required and the versions you're using (including Trinkets)?
