FastLeftClick and FastRightClick not configurable in Generic settings [1.20]

Both FastLeftClick and FastRightClick have a specific to them setting in the Generic settings section that changes how many clicks happen per game tick. This feature does NOT work.
More specifically, I can set the amount but it changes nothing in game, and the amount of clicks per game tick always stays constant at 10.
