Circumstances: I had just planted it in the Nether preemptively and completed its first growth step(dropping a water bucket on it).

The next step wanted brewing stands to be brewing things nearby - I couldn't seem to get this to trigger even with bonemeal like I could with the first step when brewing stands were working right next to it. I was trying to decide what to try next when the server crashed, probably on it trying to grow through a natural growth tick. The brewing stands weren't doing anything at the time that it crashed.
