I know I made a bug report in the Discord, but I feel like GitHub might be a better place to report bugs and more people can see and add if they're having the same issue.
To specify the Minecraft version: 1.20.1
When I turn villagers into vampires, they get the vampire texture overlay as normal (both the texture in the mod and the edited texture I made to work with Fresh Animations). But when I exit the world and go back to it, the texture has been removed, but my villagers are still vampires. I tested only with Vampirism installed in a new world to make sure no other mod, data pack, or resource pack was at fault, and discovered it is purely a Vampirism bug.
I have Easy Villagers to pick up villagers and relocate them/protect them from hunter attacks, but doing so reverts them back to normal human villagers. So I used that to test if the vampire overlay texture is completely broken by picking up a green-eyed vampire villager, putting him back down, then biting him to make him a vampire again. He gets the vampire overlay back, but when I exit the game and return, the overlay is completely gone. The red eyes are gone and the red on the bottom of the nose is gone too. This was tested with the unedited texture.

Reproduce steps
- Load a singleplayer world (already played one or new test one).
- Bite a villager to make it a vampire, it doesn't matter if you're in Survival or Creative. Wait for it to become a vampire and the overlay will be applied as normal.
- Exit the world (it won't matter if you exit the world or the whole game) then return to the world. The vampire villager will no longer have the vampire overlay, but will still be a vampire.
