Avoidance By Creepers [Bug]

After obtaining the skill "Avoidance by Creepers," I decided to go near a creeper (about ten blocks away), and a creeper approached me like it normally would if I did not have the skill and promptly blew up on me.
-Use the version of forge, minecraft, and Vampirism
-Level up normally to level seven and get Avoidance by Creepers with no deviation
-Stand in the line of sight of a creeper at the distance that you normally trigger their hostility
