I just make a simple resource pack with varied creepers and zombies and it is working fine. Can I ask why you suspended this project? Also, why not place the mob.json file in the same directory as textures?

You can place the texture in the same directory as the json file if you need to.
The project is suspended because currently i don't have enought time to work on it.
