Describe the bug, provide any errors
Okay so when a 1.8.9 or older player eats during combat they can't everytime they get hit it cancels their eating.

How can we reproduce it?
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Login on 1.8 on a newer server version (1.16.3)
2. Look at a block on the 1.8 client while wearing armour and eating the gapple.
3. Now your eating will get cancelled everytime u try to eat while looking at a block.

Expected behaviour
I expected the eating to work as usual.

Try update your protocolLib to 4.6.0 and try remove oldcombatmachanics.

Please try this on a server without additional plugins (only Via plugins). Reopen the issue if it still occurs. Eating works fine on our server.
