Actually this is a good idea.This could make it so you can't just place a PC case with components and place an screen on a tree like 50 blocks away. Ethernet would make it so you can build networks in the game, which is cool, USB could be used to connect the mouse and the keyboard.

There should be wired mice and keyboards (have to be connected with USB, have to be 3 blocks away from the case) and wireless (more expensive, right-click case while holding to connect/disconnect, still have to be placed to work, have 32 block radius)

There should also be USB drives in the form of a holdable item that can be righed-clicked into the case (can be unplugged from the GUI and you will get the item back) and is linked to a 512MB or 1/2/4/8/16 GB virtual hard dirve (higher capacities should be more expensive, 512MB should be 2 iron, 16 GB should be 64 iron) that can be connected and disconnected to any computer even while the computer is running.

There is a function in VirtualBox to connect/Disconnect Virtual hard drives while the system is running (I think). He could just use that. I never said he should use REAL USB drives but instead he should use virtual hard disks that are being connected/disconnected from the guest OS as you connect/disconnect the USB drive in-game (the guest OS will see it as a hard disk but in-game it will be represented as a USB drive)
