Linux mint cant start virtualbox

When i start the mod up with linux mint as host and fabric api and the newest version of the mod it tries to start vbox 6.1 but does not show up and does not continiue
yes it works from the desktop it hangs at starting virtualbox and i have no game logs
Does it (vbox) work when you try to launch it from your desktop/console? If so, try taking a look at the game logs, they may give you some clues...
First thing first, confirm that you are using Java 8 by issuing java -version, since Minecraft doesnt work that well with newer versions.
After confirming that you are using Java 8, I would recommend you to navigate to your game log directory (usually ~/.minecraft/logs) and have a look at the log files. If you can't find the problem by yourself, you can attach one of your log files here.
