This is intended. However, if you upgrade the voidic chestplate to have an elytra, it will save that NBT tag through the corrupt chestplate.

you're able to upgrade chestplates in general to have elytra in voidscape, or just voidic crystal? I didn't see anything similar to that in jei/emi.

I don't see that, is that a 1.20.2 addition maybe?
