Replace Purple Dye with Amethyst Shards in Crafting Recipe

Hello!
I wanted to suggest you to replace the purple dye in the warp stone craft with amethyst shards from Minecraft 1.17+: it is simple but not too much to have, would fit perfectly with the color/theme of the item, and would give another use to these amethyst geodes that for now only have a few uses!

I'm considering it, but I want to gather some real life experience first on how common amethyst geodes are.

They aren't rare at all, and in big caves it's really easy to find them. And finding only one can be enough because they are farmable. Dyes in a recipe that doesn't evolve coloring something that is a bit weird, and amethyst shards would give more a magic feeling to the item :D

You could also add enchanted amethyst shard that can be obtained via villager trades and/or enchanting table

Obsidian in waystone recipe could be also replaced with crying obsidian

Hi! This is a great suggestion- I've actually attached the recipe I changed warp dust to in my modpack. I like your suggestion of simply amethyst, but personally I think chorus fruit makes more sense in the recipe since it has teleportation properties and lacks a real purpose in vanilla Minecraft. While we're on the subject of crafting recipes, I'd suggest replacing the purple dye in the warp stone recipe with the warp dust already implemented in your mod. Purple dye just doesn't make much sense imho.

I don't really understand, I'm on the latest version of the mod, but the warp stone still requieres purple dye to be crafted, is this an error or did you changed your mind?

Was this supposed to be changed for all versions? Purple dye still seems to be required for 10.2.1 for Forge 1.18.2 and I didn't see it in any of the changelogs.

It was only changed in 1.19+. You can use a mod like CraftTweaker if you'd like to change it in earlier versions.
