Can't for the life of me install Waystones

Describe the Issue
I have been trying to install diferent mods, and the Waystones mod would crash the game after booting. Sometimes I would get as far as the titlescreen. Trying to resolve the issue, I removed all mods from the folder, and downloaded only Waystones and it's dependencies. Now however, I can't even get Waystones to work. It keeps asking for "version 5.0.34 or later of cloth-config2", however, I can't find a file specifically named "cloth-config2". It does not make a diference what version of Cloth Config API I install, it never works.
That is not even the bigger issue. I wanted to know why Waystones was crashing my game, so even if I get it to work, I imagine it will still crash the game after all the other mods are introduced. Regardless, I still would like to solve it, but have no idea how.

Do you use any performance-enhancing mods (e.g. OptiFine) or custom server distributions (e.g. SpongeForge)?
