Tried to do it in the 1.19.2 version but keeps resetting after I place it
Also tried the attuned stone and it only shows in the warp plate

I just thought as all other waystones can be named it would be nice to have them named

Right now just have signs over them

The following is just my opinion/feedback

Right now just have signs over them

So I think you're trying to indicate the destination of a given Warp Plate?

I think #698 is related, and I see two perspectives here:

  • approaching the Warp Plate itself and getting a sense of its general purpose/destination: flavor text, e.g. for adventure maps
  • looking directly at an Attuned Shard and see the exact name of its bound Warp Plate, currently displayed in Galactic font (the cryptic symbols top right in the Warp Plate screen and in shard tooltips)

From the second perspective, it is only relevant if the player has the ability to look directly at shard(s) (by holding a shard, or opening the Warp Plate's screen). This would probably be less relevant in adventure maps.

Keep in mind that that several Attuned Shards can be present in the Warp Plate and that by default it selects one at random when the teleporting triggers, which makes it impractical to display in advance (because it hasn't been chosen yet).

@BlayTheNinth do you have any other insight?

For the flavor perspective, perhaps it would be possible to display a nameplate above the Warp Plate if the block item has been renamed using an Anvil?

As far as I know, displaying a nameplate is no longer easily possible since Minecraft 1.14, and this isn't really something I would want to have lots of code for in the mod.

I believe OP is using something like Waila/Jade or TheOneProbe which is displaying the waystone name on the HUD when looked at. Allowing the Warp Plate itself to be renamed in anvils and then showing that custom name in Waila/TOP instead of its galactic font name would work for me.
