[1.20] Replace Warp Stone cooldown with Durability

The plan is to fully remove the warp stone cooldown in 1.20 and instead introduce durability to warp stones.

  • This aligns more with Vanilla gameplay, where the only cooldowns on items are transient cooldowns of a few seconds (e.g. ender pearls)
  • It also removes the obscurity in the cooldown being shared across different items, even though durability bars are generally used per-item and not per-item-type
  • Unlike resources, time can not be farmed, i.e. the cooldown is a challenge without any means of overcoming it, therefore it is not fun
  • Items that use the warp stone in their recipes will likely be changed to use a (new) warp core instead, allowing for a stackable crafting material while still supporting durability on warp stones
  • If CraftTweaker/KubeJS have the ability to change item durabilities (not sure atm), there will not be any config option for the durability as pack makers generally have these tweaker mods installed anyways

If the new warp stone will deplete durability upon each use, I'll be concerned whether its damage will still be a globally tracked value. Because if the warp stone's use affects all others' durabilities too, then it will still be confusing as this is not how the rest of the game behaves. However if you're also saying that you want each warp stone to have its own limited amount of uses independent from all others, the player will then suddenly have a reason to carry multiple warp stones at once to increase the overal available uses. Would that not be a balancing issue or a welcome one?

The durability would be per-item, just as with normal Vanilla items. I don't think it will ever be necessary to carry multiple warp stones, since the amount of teleports (probably somewhere around 200) would give you plenty of time to repair or replace a warp stone before it's fully depleted. There's also the option of using Vanilla enchantments to increase their durability, or even auto-repair via Mending.

All right, then that's a really nice upgrade of my version of the feature.

Please add to 1.18.2 as well? This is something that I immediately noticed
