Describe the Issue

There seems to be a random event causing crashing whenever way stones are naturally generated in the world, and I can't figure out the cause of such with the crash log

Do you use any performance-enhancing mods (e.g. OptiFine) or custom server distributions (e.g. SpongeForge or Arclight)?

After further testing there seems to be an issue where if a way stone is naturally generated above Y 256 it causes both server and singleplayer to crash

Possibly might be because of Integrated Villages airship village's generating so high in the sky but still seams to not have been a problem in the past for me personally.

Hello, on my side also in fabric 1.20.1, the waystones do not crash, but seem to alter the chunks. Sometimes randomly, when you load a chunk where a waystone is, the blocks there no longer break correctly and are bugged

This should be completely impossible on a technical level.

Starting to think FerriteCore might be at fault since it touches the code in question and all logs I've seen of this also had FerriteCore installed.

Does it happen without FerriteCore?

same issue, though i don't know if that's only related to high up waystones. i've been getting those random crashes that point the waystones mod to be the issue for a long time now, and just got another one. it's always the same, feature placement whatever, like "Cannot set property DirectionProperty{name=facing, clazz=class net.minecraft.core.Direction, values=[north, south, west, east]} to up on Block{waystones:waystone}, it is not an allowed value". since our issue seems to be similar, i won't clutter and bother the creators with another post relating to this, but if the op doesn't respond, i'd gladly give out as much info as possible

Also the same issue except:

  • Fabric : 1.21.1
  • Fabric Loader : 0.16.7
  • Balm Version : 21.0.20+fabric-1.21.1
  • Waystone Version : 21.0.20+fabric-1.21.1

However I simply cannot create new worlds with Waystones active (and since I don't have any existing worlds, I cannot replicate any instances of crashing as the other two note). I spent an hour and a half enabling and disabling 97 other mods and was left with Waystones being the only outlier.

This issue is for the Cannot set property DirectionProperty{name=facing, clazz=class net.minecraft.core.Direction, values=[north, south, west, east]} to up on Block{waystones:waystone}, it is not an allowed value crash in particular. If you are experiencing other crashes or bugs, open an issue for yourself instead of reusing this one (@ the comments marked off-topic).

As for this actual issue, as mentioned above I believe this could be caused by FerriteCore. If you can reproduce it without FerriteCore, please post a new log. Otherwise, I suggest reporting the issue to FerriteCore and linking to this one.

There's also a chance this may be caused by Redirector rather than FerriteCore.

Hello! very sorry haven't been on here in a bit,

I would like to add it seems the crashes have stopped happening and no it's no related to ferritecore from what I've seen but something with sytra-connecter BCLIB + Better end and Nether

commented

Closing since it's confirmed that it's impossible on a technical level for Waystones to be the cause of this. Likely an issue in Redirector, Connector, or another invasive performance mod.
