Sandstorms only last for a few seconds

so im trying to check out the sandstorms and ive noticed they only last for like 2-3 seconds then instant die. now im sure i got everything right becuse im in the middle of a desert and there is plenty upwind of me. now ive noticed both command created and natural created do this.

Perhaps a weather deflector is killing them off?

no weather defector but there is one in the world about 4k blocks away nowhere near a desert. no what happens it spawns starts working normally for 2 seconds then dies at the edge of my veiw limit. but sometimes it spawns close and dose the same. also the partical effect that i see seems no bigger then 1x1x1 chunk size when i t happenes. and ive peloaded as much of the desert as i could do to see if that would help but no. EDIT: so it was a weather defector i think the setup is missreading the sandstorm size or something becuse it was like 4000 blocks away in a extreme hills area. granted it was chunk loaded but still now if only snow buildup would work then i would be fully happy

Interesting, noted about the deflector, yeah they shouldn't be killing them off from that far away, probably a misimplementation on my part, will check it out thanks.

Next plan for weather2 is a snowstorm update so snow buildup will be getting a good lookover once I start tackling that.

Will close this issue once I commit a fix for the deflector.

Thats good about the sandstorm bug. and good to know about the snowstorm update i prefer snow biomes and would like to see realistic winter weather espically when its this time of year

Fixed, also added config for deflector range because why not d5fbcef
