So basically I'm not sure if this is to do with the mod getting confused with the separate data files or if it's a feature, but as soon as a backup data file is created in my saved word (saves > (WORLDNAME) > Weather2) The rate of storms and rain seems to decrease dramatically or stops spawning as a whole. (This occurs if a WeatherData_0_Backup0.dat is created or if a WeatherData_1_Backup.dat is created. Basically, If there's more than one .DAT file, the precipitation and storm rate nearly decreases by 50% or just stops entirely until I delete all the DAT files and let them regenerate when I log back in...
