corosus hasn't updated the mod for months I don't know if he abandoned it or not

commented

It has been updated for 1.18.2. This is normal for the author.

Coro is very busy with life, work, and other stuff. If he does abandon it, it is because his personal life comes first ^^ but I have no reason to believe he will leave and never return.

Also, nice to see you again @KarinMiku been a sec lol.

im sure it is its been 5 months since activity and the developer is not intrested at all in the mod since there are updates every few several years mod needs to be revamped by someone else

I am a friend of the developer. He is very busy with work that takes priority over a project he does in his free time. Please be patient.

I think its time for it to be passed on to new devs if it took 5 years to update... yes life comes first and with that u give the mod to someone else

commented

Or you could just let the dev work on his mod at his own pace. I'm sure you'd do the same if you made a unique mod that you wouldn't want someone else to potentially run off with and potentially ruin the reputation of it.

Life comes first, but changing devs isn't always the answer.

If you're that petty about updates, you could try weather2 remastered for 1.12.2 1.7.10 and eventually 1.16.5 but honestly I'm sure if you made a weather mod for Minecraft you'd understand why us devs take years to perfect it.

Modding isn't something you learn and can do overnight. It takes years of practice. Something many people tend to overlook.

Big respect to modders. I've been teaching myself Java for the last few months to learn some modding, and heck it's rough

no one plays 1.12.2 or 1.7.10 mod comes with glitches and lacks alot, yes it takes years of practice but the mod has been out for almost a decade so i think they got plenty of experience, life comes first so if u cant update pass it to someone else thats all im going to say, no disrespect

As far as 1.12.2 goes. it still has a bustling community of people playing and developing mods for it. It's of course not as big as later version,s but 1.12.2 is a major version for modders and I've heard it called one of the "golden-age versions" of modded MC.

commented

1.12.2 is still widely played and supported. 1.7.10 is dead yes, but just because a mod has been out for 10 years does not mean a change of developer is right.

Would you like it if you made a mod, gave the code to someone you trust, and they decide to turn it into malware or worse?

Please think about what others go through before telling them what they should do. As a result of this becoming toxic, I'm going to request this issue be closed.

I mean, that is the most disrespectful thing you can say about someone's passion project. Imagine working on your own project for years and someone goes and tells you that you are too slow and to give up the project to someone else; just because you can't find the time to work on it atm.

Please refrain from making these kinds of comment for any project as that is a sure way to get your favorite mod creators burnt out and give up. Also, my entire community plays in 1.12.2. 1.12.2 is known for the abundance of legendary tech mods. It's far from dead.

The beta version of the mod will get updated to either 1.19 or 1.20 in the next couple months since love tropics will be relying on it.

In terms of time to do technical work on it, I've been busy with other work all year trying to finish up an ongoing multi year project. If I have more time after that I intend to do some mass mod updating, including catching up weather mod to readd the missing pieces to get it out of beta, that kind of stuff doesn't take as much creative energy so I should be able to just hammer it out.

In terms of creative energy to work on it, I've been a bit stuck with weather mod, I've tried a couple approaches to a redesign of clouds and haven't quite decided on the direction I've wanted to go with it, and gotten a bit stuck on the technical side trying to implement those ideas for some of it and it's stagnated since then, lots of proof of concepting with no final implementation. At some point the ADHD interests might shift again and have me focusing hard on it xD
