The Nether is over-run with Weeping Angels

Me and my friends decided to install this mod, and after one of us entered the nether he was decimated almost instantly. They took his pick in the proccess (while he was trying to do something with 2 fps). As it turns out, when he teleported to the nether he was greeted by almost 200 weeping angels. Our portal was located in the Warped Forest biome, and angels were spawning in like crazy. They took our pickaxes while we were trying to lure them out but in the end decided to just /kill all of them because there was no way to stop them all.
I was curious if this was some other mod messing with the spawns, so I checked it on a fresh Minecraft Instance, no mods other than Weeping Angels mod (and Fabric API, of course). As it turns out, the bugged spawns were not affected by something else. I tped to the Warped Forest biome and after 20-30 seconds of being there a 120~ angels have already spawned all around me (I was using the Timey Wimey Detector to see the numbers).

I'm having this same issue on the forge version. It seems to affect any biome with few natural spawns, specifically many Biomes o' Plenty biomes in the nether.
I'm playing on Minecraft 1.20.1 with forge 47.3.0 and the mod version is 46.0.2

i actually came here looking for this issue, more specifically the pickaxe problem. Is there a way to disable them from taking the pickaxes?? i cant find anything in the configs for it, and i cant tell you how many fully enchanted pickaxes we've lost due to it. nobody wants the functionality, and as stated above the spawns are SUPER broken in the nether and BOP biomes. ill subscribe to the thread to keep posted about it

This has been a massively ongoing issue that seems to get fixed and immediately become unfixed as soon as it’s sorted. I’m not sure if it stems from Minecraft’s biome changes after each update, if it’s caused by people’s mod packs or something entirely different

I’ve sunk a lot of time into trying to resolve it over the past year but no one really ever steps up to give me more information than “nethers over run! I will not give you logs and I will not provide more information” and it leads to this issue constantly

You can disable the angels taking your pickaxe by making a datapack that removes all items it steals from the item tag, I’d give more information than this if I wasn’t on mobile at the moment - I dislike that it became a datapack but it’s the way the game and mod loaders are going - I swear I did add a config toggle for it but it seems in porting it got lost

I’ll be focusing in on this issue more after the release of TARDIS Refined 2.1.0 as I’ll be adding compatibility at the same time

I am sorry for the inconvenience this issue caused everyone but at the same time spawn code had been really undocumented for a really long time and there’s just so much guessing involved and it doesn’t help that players provide very little insight and just spam the CurseForge comments (not you guys)
