WorldEdit 6.1.5 on Spigot 1.12 fails and shuts down server

WORLDEDIT-3568 - Reported by smmmadden.1

As per the comment on Spigot, it appears that one of the plugins is shutting down the server and preventing the ability to test the pre-release of 1.12. Dynmap is used by Minecraft and by Residence Plugin. Dynmap fails first and then Residence fails due to the dependency. The plugin owner for Residence is updating that plugin to be more resilient when Dynmap is not available. The same holds true here, if Dynmap fails to load, it should disable itself and allow the server to continue to start "without it".

@wizjany is there a way to see what this is a duplicate of? I didn't see any other server issues related to 1.12 recently. Thanks!

there is literally ONLY one other issue related to 1.12 because it's NOT EVEN OUT YET.

makes sense, though just so you know Spigot 1.12 pre-release 5 is available, which is how we know there's an issue with multiple plugins. :-)

i am aware. there's also already a fix for this, we're just not pushing anything live until a real release is out and we can test compatibility.

also for the record, worldedit doesn't shut down the server, not really sure why you'd think that.

That was based on the Spigot reply when I reported it to them. They claim its the plugins not handling exceptions properly and forcing a shutdown. I've already identified 2 other plugins where this was true. Thanks though for the update, guess I'll need to wait a bit longer to do my testing.

Update: While WorldEdit doesn't load in pre2 or pre5 of Spigot 1.12, it is not the cause of the server shutdown. I narrowed it down to one plugin causing the problem and not failing gracefully. Would still love to get a dev build to do some testing with 1.12. :-)
