Unable to Retrieve Grave After Server Crash

While playing on my Minecraft server hosted by Bisect Hosting, the server crashed right after I died fighting the Warden, showing a "connection lost" message to all players (3 at that time). I had to manually stop and restart the server. After logging back in, I went to the location where I died and saw my grave, but I was unable to interact with it or retrieve my items. A friend who was also online at the time experienced the same issue with his own grave—he could see it but couldn’t interact with it or collect his items either.

I also tried using commands to locate the grave, but it didn’t appear in the list, even though it was visibly present in the world.

Sounds like this could be an issue with saving and loading graves. If you can show any logs over the time this issue happened it could help me to figure out how to fix the issue

Thank you! Looks like an issue which I hope I've already managed to solve. I'll release a version with this fix within this week

Thank you so much for the information. Anyway, will I be able to recover my items from the grave or are they lost forever? I’m playing at 1.21.1 fabric ver.

If it doesn't show up with /yigd I'm afraid there is no way to get the items back...

It´s ok. Thank you anyway.

Good evening!
Unfortunately, the exact same bug just happened to me.

I spent a long time trying to figure out how to recover the items, even using NBTExplorer to manually check the files, but it seems there’s no way to get them back.

Basically, my friend and I were fighting the Warden, and when we both died, the server crashed. After restarting, we found our graves at the location, but they were completely unresponsive — we couldn't retrieve anything.

The only thing I was able to find using /yigd and digging through game files was my inventory from a previous death in the Nether, before the Warden fight.

Anyway, here’s my report and feedback — I hope it helps with fixing this bug in a future update. Thanks for the great work on the mod!

Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷

The issue should now be fixed in the newest release of the mod (2.4.17 for fabric, and 2.0.12 for neoforge)
