I have just opened up a brand new instance/world in version 1.5.3, every recipe chain for iron plates seems to require already having iron plates. There are also 2 types of iron plates that have to recipe, I'm wondering if one of these was disabled without realizing that it is necessary?

You can ignore this, I missed that you can make a basic generator without requiring iron plates by using a treetap to get sap.
