Modern Industrialization - Odd behavior

So 1.4.0 was corrupting textures, like this:
I think it's fixed (1.4.1), but now it's doing this:
That supposed to be 3 steam quarries in the back, and the block i'm looking at is an MV to LV transformer. Everything looks right in inventory, then looks right immediately after placing, but a split second later turns into a completely different block, WTHIT is even showing info for a different block (lead ore in this case.
Things i've tried:
Up to and including deleting my curse profile and re-installing it.
my rubber tress are intentionally bare except for 2 that just grew, but i cant help notice they're all sideways logs now, and the leafy ones are prettier than usual
That's not actually an electric mixer despite WTHIT, right now it's an xray hack...
looking through a steam blast furnace down to my factory except nothing looks like a machine, and discovering a nice big cave.
