Is it possible to upgrade modpack version and be safe to not loose anything ?

Take a look at the removed mods from the changelogs between your current pack version and the latest. if you are using any of the mods that were removed, you will lose items/blocks/entities that were part of those mods.

in some cases, there are notes where you may need to do something during an update and that is generally listed as a disclaimer in the changelog
