It would be great if it worked like this: 20-25 foods for a new heart(harder Path) and 20-25 hearts to collect in total.(more Rewarding)
At the moment, you only need in order to compleet the full mod justeat 50 foods, which can be completed almost effortlessly, even without the cool variety of kitchen mods.

Maybe consider integrating Applied Cooking (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/applied-cooking) to make ingredient storage easier and the kitchen multiblock more compact. Would be a great Addition in my Opinion
