What happened?

As described by the title, when the building gadget uses a block from a drawer with an upgrade in your inventory, it deletes said upgrade, which after placing only contains the default stack limit and either crashes soon after or leaves the rest of the items as a single stack in your inventory (eg: 20k stone in drawer in inventory with diamond upgrade -> 2k in drawer with no upgrade and a single stack of 18k stone)

Really niche bug, but mostly annoying as I couldn't figure out the cause of this (was manually pulling out from the drawer normally).
