I'm not sure if this is intended but, since the update to 4.10 the recipie to craft spores into the relevant resource has been replaced by the Twilight Forest uncrafting table.

Normally you're able to convert the spores into slime, redstone, glowstone, or gunpowder by placing it in a crafting grid.
