When you have the Compacting Upgrade, the backpack will not compact cobbled deepslate. I believe it only see the 9 cobbled deepslate to normal cobblestone recipe and will not compact because it cannot be reversed. If you tell it to compact anything then it turns the the deepslate into ugly normal cobble. It's weird that recipe exists, unless its just a general "cobblestone" unified recipe. I tried using KubeJS to delete that specific rule but am clueless on how to use Kube.
