Empty Source Receptacle (Elemental Craft)

Not sure if this is a known issue, but I put an Eternal Stella on my newly made Empty Source Receptacle (not the Improved) and it took durability loss. JEI says I am able to put an Eternal Stella on the Source Receptacle and the Improved Source Receptacle.
Am I doing something incorrectly?
