You no longer do this, you simpy click on the key while holding an enderpearl.

Aka: Try to place an enderpearl onto the key in your inventory.

Can confirm. Right-clicking an ender pearl onto the key as suggested by JEI no longer works. though it does seem that you can now empower a key by right-clicking it onto a grave with a soul which I don't recall being an option before. it could be the dev is planning on replacing the ender pearl mechanic?

so the mod wants you to take the longer route to getting enchanted keys by making the gravestone and click it while holding the key, it must have the soul spinning around it to work.
