After several hours of troubleshooting, I can't find any solution for this. Several of my friends can launch this pack no problem, but my friend on a Windows 11 gaming laptop simply cannot run it. After pressing play, there is no feedback for a minute or so and then it crashes with error code 1.

I've tried

• Updating system java
• Reinstalling everything many times
• Copying and pasting a working directory from one computer to another
• Updating graphics drivers
• Minecraft in compatibility mode

It seems to be a problem with Quartz, but other threads have suggested quartz just happens to be the first to report errors, not the actual cause. I've been setting up minecraft clients to play with friends for 9 years now and nothing that I've used to fix things in the past has worked.

This resolved it. The FTB launcher worked for her, thank you!

set custom java path in curseforge to adoptium, please download latest version of adoptium java 17, you also have very strange java arguments. I also recommend perhaps look for alternative launchers will launch the game much better
