Internal Exception seemingly cause by Universal Grid causing player to be booted

[minecraft/ServerGamePacketListenerImpl]: Username lost connection: Internal Exception: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: readerIndex(5) + length(4) exceeds writerIndex(5): PooledUnsafeDirectByteBuf(ridx: 5, widx: 5, cap: 5)
This happens consistently while using the 'wireless universal grid' from [Universal Grid By Ultramegaaa] https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/universal-grid. and swapping to the crafting grid, as shown in the image below.
