Unable to get the player simulator to attack mobs or players.

Tried with/without continuous clicking, inside claimed ftbchunks (with/without fake players and pvp enabled). Tried adjusting the ticks/operation to no avail.

To be clear, left clicking works...slime blocks are broken even when continuous clicking is off. This means it is still left clicking, however it just won't attack entities, seemingly.

After lots of debugging I found out that this happens because of the mod "Clean Swing Through Grass". Removing that mod will fix this.
