What happened?

Have a bunch of stone pickaxes or stacks of cobblestone in my inventory. When a stone pickaxe breaks on my hotbar through usage, it won't be auto replaced with another from my inventory, even though the auto refill = true in the config.
Same with any type of block you have multiple stacks of and you deplete it, it won't auto fill.
