What happened?

When you explore the ocean, you come across many clusters of yellow chickens by Maiden's MerryMaking mod. I don't think they are supposed to be all over the ocean like that.

It seems I'm not the only one experiencing this. I'm not sure if the excessive number of chickens is affecting the spawning of original marine creatures, but I'm having a hard time finding them now—like sea turtles, tropical fish, and pufferfish.
