I assume there is a setting that is making crops either disappear or get eaten, but what eats sugarcane?
With fences being a tough thing to create early game and food being scarce and so important, it's a little tough when your crops get eaten by mobs.

Looks like a roughmobs setting actually, zombies are breaking everything including torches.
I vote to disable this, the mobs are tough enough as it is.
