cannot craft 1st key

I have all the parts, it shows in JEI, i can add the recipe from jei and the parts go into the grid. The output item doesn't appear, though.
I tried the default crafting table in this pack, as well as the 4-legged one which looks like tinkers but isnt. I also tried the ancient warfare crafting table and none of these showed any different outcome.
Obviously it blocks progress which is quite a pain. If there's anything I can do locally to fudge past it, I could do that - it is running on a server though and it would be good if the users can craft the keys as they make progress in the normal way.
This sounds like the server wasn't set up correctly and is unaware of the key's modified recipe. Are you the server operator?
I suggest you make a post on Discord, include the crafttweaker log from your server (crafttweaker.log in the server's top directory). We don't allow file uploads, so post it on a site like https://paste.ubuntu.com and share the link.
