Every buried treasure map that I've found is just a blank map that you have to right click to render. Obviously right clicking it just renders your current location, but a treasure map should already be rendered.

You are probably unlucky. Those blank maps are result of terrain gen deleting the chests (so the game makes those buried maps -> blank maps)
You can try to find more maps to see.

PS: we have bank storage already, why dank storage? : P

I've found 3 so far. So you're saying that even though it says "buried treasure map" it's been re-generated because of the terrain gen?

PS: When I saw the bank mod and read the description briefly, it sounded like it was limited to a single slot, but now that I'm looking at it more thoroughly, it's actually a better version of dank... so uhh, to answer your question...because of sheer ignorance :P

I don't remember those items' names (I just look at the item's icon)

• If it looks like a blank map: that map is invalid (because of terrain gen)
• If it looks like a vanilla treasure map: 100% you will find a chest
