After this pr #503, the sophisticated storage base upgrade is disabled, this makes other upgrades such as the compression upgrade and the hopper upgrade uncrafteable.

you should be able to use the sophisticated backpacks upgrades in sophisticated storage now

I can use the sophisticated storage upgrades on backpacks but I can't use the sophisticated backpacks improvements on the storages, also the upgrades I mentioned don't exist for the backpacks.

I don't know if the problem can be related to the fact that the world I used is updated from version 1.18.

they have been unified with sophisticated backpack upgrades since they work exactly the same and sophisticated storage compat has been added

you can still use them if you have some from previous versions, but from now only the ones from sophisticated backpacks are craftable.
Also the compression upgrade is present for both mods, so it is craftable.

Unfortunately, Sophisticated Backpack does not have the Compression Upgrade. It seems you may be confusing it with the Compacting Upgrade.
(The Compression Upgrade turns various barrels into the familiar 'Compacting Drawer'.)
