The quest chain for Metalurgy appears broken I noticed it on my server at first, then I checked it in single player as well. They appear to be broken with no rewards or description.

Ok I think I understand that part of the quest book a bit more now after looking into more. It shows how the ore is got and used. I think it could do with a bit more of a guide, but its fine overall I just needed to do a double take on it. Sorry for the bad post.
